Classic Christmas Wreath

Making a fresh wreath is a great way to bring nature into your home, and it's really easy to do. You can make one in less than an hour, and all you need is some fresh foliage.

Things you will need:

Cut the plant material into short and long lengths. Aim for a range of leaf sizes and textures, from neat and spiky, to broad and floppy. Cut a long piece of twine (about 6 feet long for small wreaths works well). Gently bend a large branch into a circular shape, tying it together with the twine and leaving a long tail. This is the base of your wreath. Keep adding different lengths of foliage and secure to your base. Get an attractive mixed effect by varying the foliage and berries used each time you insert a new sprig, to avoid groupings of the same plant material. Attach a ribbon and it's ready to be hung on your front door.

      Bauble Wreath

Create a beautiful, festive Christmas wreath from old baubles. It's easy to make with some bits lying around the house, and it looks great too!

      Things you will need:

Bend the wire hanger to shape it into a circle. Thread each bauble through the hanger. Mix different sized baubles, from small to large, to create a luxurious look. Make sure to pack the baubles tightly together to hide the hanger and create a fuller wreath. Once you're happy with the position of the baubles, twist the ends of the hanger back together. Bend the top of the hanger to hide it and attach a ribbon. Hang on your front door for everyone to admire!

        Christmas Light Ball

DIY Christmas light balls are a great way to add some holiday spirit to your home. They're easy to make, and they'll last for years!

        Things you will need:

Remove the chains from the hanging baskets. Line each basket with foliage and secure them with cable ties. Place one basket on top of the other, creating a ball. Secure together with cable ties. Place the battery pack of your outdoor lights inside. Wrap the lights around the basket. Re-attach the chain to the top of the basket. Now your light ball is ready to hang and add sparkle to your garden!

          Advent Calendar

A DIY advent calendar is a great way to get the whole family in on the holiday fun. It's reusable, easy to make, and affordable! All you need are some paper bags and a little bit of creativity.

          Things you will need:

Cut 50 squares (6 inch x 6 inch) out of your paper bags. Fold 25 lids and 25 bottoms from the squares. These will create 25 boxes. Stamp, stencil or hand paint numbers to each box. Leave as is for a classic look or get creative and decorate! Add your chosen treats. Display them lined up on the mantle, stack together in a pyramid or hide them around the house for the kids to find each day!
