(Pumpkin) Spice It Up This Year With Our Indoor Halloween Decorating Ideas

It’s that time of year again! With Halloween just around the corner, it’s time to transform your home into a haunted mansion. To help you get inspired, we’ve put together some ideas for creating a boo-tifully decorated home this Halloween.

Indoor Halloween Decorating Ideas

One of the best ways to get in the Halloween spirit is with festive indoor decor. From creepy hanging fabrics and spooky lights to Halloween baking essentials, we’ve got you covered! Get inspired by some of our Halloween decor ideas below.

1.    Hellish Halloween Hallway

If your guests have dared to enter your haunted abode this Halloween, make them second guess themselves by creating a hellish hallway! Fill the area with spooky warning signs, bowls of terrifying treats and a creepy animated character to greet them, like a witch, ghost, or grim reaper. Glowing candles lining any hall tables will create the perfect Halloween mood by casting sinister shadows on the walls as your visitors walk through.

2.    Witch's Kitchen

Create a spooky kitchen fit for a witch this season. Replace your cookbooks with witchy decor like spell books, your coffee mugs for skeleton goblets, and your pots with cauldrons! A collection of plump pumpkins would fit perfectly on any countertop, too. Think of carving some spooky faces into them to create scary shadows around the room when lit.

Some great character decorations to include would be cats, skulls, and of course a witch or two! Add some spooky lighting and other witchy accessories, like hats, boots, or magic crystal balls to complete the look, and you’re ready to throw a festive Halloween party.

3.    The Living (Dead) Room

The living room is the perfect room for dipping in decorations at Halloween. For lighting, you could use creepy candles, glowing decorations or even a light projector that casts fun Halloween shapes on the wall. Add some cobwebs and spiders, along with some living dead characters like ghosts, skeletons, and zombies to keep you company when watching your favourite Halloween movies.

A crystal ball on your coffee table might even help you to decide what to watch! Replace family photos with some gothic portraits and your coffee table books with some spell books to complete the look.

4.    Dine if You Dare

Make your diners question whether they’re being served up a bowl of tricks or treats this October by transforming your dining room into an eerie, yet seasonal, eating area. Create a haunting table centrepiece using a mix of autumnal table decor and candles. Next, add some cauldrons filled with sweets of your choosing. Mix a few creepy surprises into it, like rubber spiders and eyeballs, to give your guests a fright when they reach inside. Other decor, like skeletons and skulls, will make your visitors question what you’re really serving up for dinner!

5.    Haunted Home Office

One of the perks of working from home means you can go all out on decorating your desk at every seasonal opportunity. Let Halloween be no exception by adding some spooky indoor décor to your home office this year.  For a simple look, drape cobwebs across your monitor, add a bowl filled with Halloween treats and pop a spooky sign or two above your desk.

Alternatively, you could create a cutesy vibe with cartoonish pumpkins and ghosts, and other colourful Halloween characters. Keep the decorations light and fun to achieve this look. If you want to go in the opposite direction, think about hanging up caution tape, fake windows on the wall and floating skeletons to really give people a fright on your video calls!
