  • 1 Apply one coat of Johnstone’s Any Surface Primer to your shapes and allow to dry for as long as is indicated by the instructions on the can.
  • 2 Using your tester pots, apply one coat of matt or soft sheen in your preferred colours. We have used Johnstone’s Pineapple Crush, Miami Mint and Steel Smoke.
  • 3 Allow to dry fully and apply additional coats as required.
  • 4 Once dry, apply 3M Command strips to the reverse side of your shapes. Ensure your command strips can support the weight of your shapes before hanging them on the wall.
  • 5 Before placing your shapes on the wall, it is a good idea to sketch out your chosen pattern so that it is easy to follow.
  • 6 Measure out your starting point on your wall. Place first shape in position and test to make sure it is level using a spirit level.
  • 7 Plot out the rest of your design as wish. You can vary shapes and patterns to create your own design.
