How To Replace a Ballcock & Float Valve

Turn off water.
Flush the toilet the drain the cistern.
Remove the lid
Unscrew the float arm from the old valve unit.
Remove this from cistern
Use a cloth to soak up any extra water.
Use a bucket for any extra spillage
Locate the coupling unit under the cistern and unscrew.
Unscrew the retaining nut found above the coupling nut.
Remove the old float valve and position in the new float valve.
Measure distance to side of cistern.
Cut to length
Attach ball float to float valve.
Position float arm.
Tighten retaining nut.
Replace coupling nut and water inlet pipe.
Turn water back on.
Check that the ball float doesn’t rub off the tank
Adjust nut at base of float arm.
To fill to water line
Put lid back on.
Test by flushing.
